Features
Take a Peek Inside Your UFOs
Area51 lets you look at what is inside of your UFOs. Glyphs, kerning data, groups, font info and features. You can even edit the font info data in a simple, understandable interface.
Edit and Test Your Features
Edit your features using Area51's built-in feature editor or edit the features in your UFO in your favorite text editor. It's your choice. When you are ready, Area51 will let you take your features out for a spin so that you can see if your GSUB and GPOS code is working.
Generate OpenType Fonts
If you have the AFDKO installed, Area51 will use it to generate an OpenType font straight from your UFO. Did you just finish creating a bunch of new weights in everyone's favorite all-powerful interpolation application? Want to make some OTFs right now? Drag your UFOs into the Area51 batch generator, press the generate button and start proofing. Note: These fonts should be used only for your own testing. They should not be shipped to customers.
Just the Beginning
Area51 is brand new. There are features and improvements large and small planned for the future.

Area51 is free. (As such, I'm only offering limited technical support. The application is provided as-is etc.)
